How it works

Submitting an item for sale

If you are Private Seller (= physical person, not a Store/Boutique)

Listing an item for sale is free and unlimited. Fashion Federation only takes a commission and handling fees in case of a successful sale.

  1. Create your " Seller Account"

  2. Set up your payment account so we can pay you when your item has been sold ( you can do this at a later stage, after having submitted your item).

  3. Go to the "Add New Product " tab

  4. Select your category: Men, Women or Lifestyle

  5. Select a category: Clothing, Shoes, Sports etc.

  6. Enter the item brand/designer

  7. Write a short description mentioning any defaults, the potential alterations made as well as measurements where applicable and any other information helpful to the buyer. Please mention here the real size on the label (for example 42 IT or 36FR).

  8. Enter the sale price and you will see automatically what you receive for the sale (the sale price minus commission and handling fees). Have a look at similar items sold on other resale platforms to get an adequate price, which will increase the chances for your product to sell faster (you can make price reductions afterwards if you think necessary).

  9. Enter the item’s actual condition (for example if it still has a tag on or was hardly ever worn choose “Like New” , if it has quite a few signs of wear choose “Fair”)

  10. Enter the material (you can find it on the composition label)

  11. Enter the item's colour (you can specify the shade, pattern or other details in the description field)v

  12. Enter the size equivalent (for example S= IT40= FR36; write the size specified on the tag in the description field)

  13. Upload the item’s pictures (that you can take with your mobile phone) following the guidelines. Include pictures with the label/brand visible, and for shoes always a photo of the sole. If you have purchase receipts or authenticity certificates for your items, include pictures of these.

Once this form is filled out, the moderation team will get back to you within 24 hours (working hours, Monday to Friday).

Please note that the sale on www.fashionfederation.ch is restricted to Swiss residents or persons holding a valid Swiss address and who can use the Swiss Postal Services.

If you are a non- Swiss resident or business and wish to sell through our marketplace, then go to www.fashionfederation.eu You must be based in the one of the 28 countries of the European Union.

  • 23% for prices between 301 and 600 frs

Discover our Designers

You'll find the list of brands we carry on our homepage, in the "Designers" tab.

The brands Fashion Federation promotes are fashionable and in line with the present trends. Our selection may vary with the trends and our own choices.

Choose “other” if your brand/designer is not in the list, and mention the designer in the Description field.

We reserve the right to refuse publishing items that we feel do not match our community’s aesthetics.

Take a picture of your item

Adding the right picture is the best way to encourage potential buyers to look at your item. For a detailed explanation of how best to do this, follow our tutorial which you'll find on the submission form.

When you submit an item, you can upload up to 5 pictures of your item. Don't forget: the more pictures your item has, the more attractive your ad will be. Always add a picture of proof of purchase and /or authenticity certificate whenever you have one.

Try to follow these general guidelines when you take a picture:

  • Take a picture of the entire item

  • Use a good light source

  • Take it from different angles to show all sides

  • For shoes always take a picture of the sole

  • Show all the defaults your item has, as described in your add

Your pictures must be in .jpg format to be uploaded. They can be taken with any good resolution smartphone.

Setting your item’s selling price

Not sure how much to price your item at? We recommend you check similar items for sale on Fashion Federation or other resale marketplaces and that you set a realistic selling price, which will ensure a quick sale.

You can always make a price reduction later if you feel necessary in order to sell you item faster. Fashion Federation offers a bidding option, where buyers can make an offer on your item and that you can accept or refuse.

Select the condition of your item

You can specify your item’s condition in the submission form, in the ‘Condition’ section.

Fashion Federation only accepts items that are in useable condition for their new owners. Please use your common sense to determine the state of your item.

Not sure which condition to set for your item?

When in doubt, select the lowest option you're considering. Once you sell your item, the quality control department will base its assessment on the condition you've chosen. That way, you'll avoid post-sale negotiations and a potential change of price.

Write the description of your item

When you list an item on the site, you will have to provide a detailed description of it. Here are a few tips:

  • Mention every default to avoid refusal by our quality control (explaining the faults or damaged areas in detail allows you to avoid potentially having to go through post-sale negotiations at the end of quality control.)

  • List every potential alteration you have made to the original item (i.e. changed the buttons, added a patch etc)

  • If there is a tag missing (the one with the material or the brand), specify it

  • List all the items that are provided with your item (dustbag, purchase receipt, authenticity certificate etc.)

  • Specify the original size (i.e. FR 36) , the material and the measurements

Send us your item when we notify you the sale

When your item is bought you get an instant email notification, and you have a maximum of 10 days to send your item. If you are unavailable or travelling, inform us in due time by email.

  • Pack your item appropriately and send it through the Swiss Post at the address provided in the notification, at your expense.

  • Our quality control will check your item for authenticity and compliance to your description. If everything is ok, we will repack your item in personalized Fashion Federation packaging and send it to the buyer. If your item does not comply or proves to be a counterfeit, we will contact you.

  • When the item is sent to the buyer, your payment is scheduled to the closest payment term (we pay out our sellers twice a month, the 15th and the 30th)
